Prosolia Energy and Servitria complete construction of the solar plant at Ford’s factory in Spain

• New plant has an installed capacity of 2.8 MW, with a planned expansion to 10 MW in 2024.
•With the commissioning of this plant, Prosolia Energy has already built and executed more than 255MW in the last two years.

After several years of intense collaboration, Prosolia Energy, a leading vertically integrated energy producer in the solar photovoltaic sector, and Servitria,a company specialising in technical services for industry and large companies, have completed the construction of the solar power plant at the Ford factory in Almussafes (Valencia). At present, this plant has an installed capacity of 2.8 MW with a planned expansion of up to 4 MW by the end of 2023 and 10 MW in 2024.

In this collaboration between the two companies, Prosolia and Servitria have been in charge of the EPC (engineering procurement and construction) tasks related to the photovoltaic activity, including engineering, design, plant construction and commissioning.

This project is in line with Ford’s sustainability strategy in support of decarbonised mobility. Thus, the new solar plant contributes to all the electricity used at Ford’s Almussafes plant coming from renewable sources, which is also a further step towards making 100% of the electricity used in its global manufacturing carbon-free by 2035.

In this regard, Prosolia Energy has extensive experience in developing energy solutions for companies in the automotive sector, collaborating with them in their transformation towards more sustainable and decarbonised models.

A fruitful collaboration to advance the change of energy model

Prosolia and Servitria, two companies with several decades of experience in their respective sectors, collaborate on a recurring basis on projects focused on energy solutions for nationally recognised companies. In this sense, Juan Carlos Guaita, president of Prosolia, assures that: “this project is the result of the collaboration of two companies. with extensive experience in our respective sectors. In this way, we contribute to advancing the change of energy model in which we are already immersed, seeking global and decarbonised energy solutions that meet the needs of our customers”.

Carlos Martínez, general manager of Servitria, said: “We are proud to be able to contribute to the sustainable development of our customers with projects such as this solar plant. A project that also strengthens our relationship with this automotive multinational and the trust it has placed in us after many years of collaboration”.

With the commissioning of this plant, Prosolia Energy has already built and executed more than 255MW in the last two years.
