ITERCON and SERVITRIA boost the presence of women in the industrial sector

• The companies organised the meeting `Building on Equality ́ in which leading women in the sector highlighted the importance of the female presence in the industry
• Both companies have a strong commitment to equality and have plans and actions in place to support this

Valencia, 9 March 2023. . Yesterday, the company specialising in design and construction, Itercon, and the company specialising in services for large companies and administrations, Servitria, organised a round table on the occasion of International Women ́s Day. .

Under the slogan, ‘’Building on equality’, both companies brought together a select group of leading women in the industrial field, for their brilliant professional careers, to share with all the women who are part of the teams of Itercon and Servitria their experience and experiences throughout all these years and thus, act as a lever of motivation to continue promoting their growth and development.

The commitment to diversity and equality in the teams is part of the DNA of the organising companies, which, since their foundation, have carried out actions and initiatives to guarantee this goal. They have recently launched an Equality Plan which, among other things, includes new measures in terms of family reconciliation, internal training in this field and audits to ensure equal pay.

During the meeting, the benefits of the female leadership model, which is already being applied by large companies, were mentioned. “When womwn reach management positions, it will change the way we lead. We are more empathetic and more united as a team,” Amparo García, Development Manager de CyrusOne España.

For her part, la Ford Spain ́s Investment and Subsidies Manager, Carmen Sebastian,stressed the importance of self-confidence and mutual support, “we must trust in ourselves and become strong. When we are a team we add more”. Although the presence of women in the sector does not exceed 23%, María Luisa Collado, profesor at the ETSIE of the Universitat Politècnica de València (UPV) said that the tren is changing. “In my time there were hardly any women in my career, now I am a profesor and I have 60% female students. An example of this is ITERCON, a company that has more tan 32% women in its teams.
